WINNERS - Energy Business Awards, Asia 2008

The results of the annual Energy Business Awards Asia were announced today and presented at the 24th APPEC Asia-Pacific Petroleum Conference (APPEC) in Singapore.
The Energy Business Awards, Asia 2008 reward excellence in four key energy business disciplines - to those companies who are making a significant mark on the way energy business is conducted, trading risks mitigated, precious energy resources utilised, energy systems developed, environmental degradation curtailed, energy technology advanced, and energy production and consumption distributed more efficiently and ethically.

"All short-listed companies were worthy representatives in their chosen field of excellence. This year's nominees have demonstrated the commitment, energy and dedication to advancing energy business in the region," said Guy Isherwood, Publisher of Commodities Now magazine and co-founder of the Energy Business Awards.
"Now in their second year, the Energy Business Awards, Asia recognise the critical contribution being made by the Asian marketplace within the global energy complex. Asia is both the world's fastest growing energy market as well as playing a significant role in the fast growing environmental markets through the development of CDM projects," said Jeremy Wilcox of The Energy Partnership and co-founder of the Energy Business Awards.

The Energy Business Awards, Asia: A two-stage process
The EBAA is a two-stage process, comprising a nomination period followed by voting on a shortlist of five nominees in each award category.
Stage 1: This first stage was for nominations and concluded on September 5th 2008. Companies from throughout the Asian energy complex were invited to nominate themselves or others in any one of 4 categories of excellence.
Stage 2: The second stage [from September 8th to September 26th] involved voting for 1 of 5 nominees from each category drawn up by the Awards Panel. In 2008, a nearly 8,000 votes were cast across the award categories.
